Lazar Sarna
Lazar Sarna, as a member of the Bar of Quebec, has practiced law in a number of fields, including corporate and litigation matters. Mr. Sarna has appeared before the various courts in the Province, including the Supreme Court of Canada. As well, he has acted as an expert witness on civil and banking matters before the Ontario courts.
 Mr. Sarna is recognized as an expert in letters of credit and bills of lading, having published the major works in the field (Letters and Credit, Carswell, Toronto; and Bills of Lading, Carswell, Toronto). He is also the author of works on Cheques and Promissory Notes, and Directors and Officers, and Law of Bankruptcy.
Karim Renno
Karim is one of the founding partners of Renno and Vathilakis and has amassed a vast experience and an excellent reputation with regard to private international law matters and injunctionslanning.
He has represented some of the most important companies before the all levels of Quebec courts and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Karim is recognized by Best Lawyers Canada as a leading practitioner for corporate/commercial litigation since 2015.
The Hon. Joseph Nuss
The Honourable Joseph R. Nuss, C.M., Q.C., Ad. E., F.C.IArb , is a former Justice of the Quebec Court of Appeal. He joined Woods LLP, as Senior Counsel, in December 2009 following his retirement from the Court. In addition to giving advice as senior counsel, he concentrates his practice in the fields of domestic and international arbitration and mediation.
Michael Shortt
Michael Shortt is a lawyer and trademark agent. His practice focuses on both litigation and transactional work, with an emphasis on the videogame and artificial intelligence industries. As a member of the Québec and Ontario bars, he advises clients on both common-law and civil-law matters.
Michael is a co-founder of the firm’s videogame industry group and works for videogame development studios and publishers of all sizes. He reviews, negotiates, and drafts contracts in the videogame industry, as well as providing compliance advice for consumer protection and other regulatory issues, like the computer program rules under Canada’s anti-spam legislation.
Denis Douville
Denis Douville is an associate with the intellectual property group at Fasken. His practice involves areas of law that touch on digital documents and electronic signatures, including the video game, health, and pharmaceutical Industries. He has experience with complex corporate transactions, trademark prosecution, copyright, and privacy compliance, as well as with regulatory matters. He also assists clients with litigation, particularly intellectual property litigation. He has been part of teams litigating patent infringement, copyright, trademark, regulatory, and constitutional matters.
Yossi Shanowitz
Yossi Shanowitz received his MA Talmudic Law in 1989 from the RCA. He is an accredited JLI instructor on Law and Ethics and lectures extensively on the comparative law & ethics.
